The kindness of strangers
As you'll read, we had an issue with one of our cowl flaps today. We were in Pittsburg, Kansas. The airport manager gave us the name of a local mechanic who came out from his shop to help us. He spent an hour with us and came up with a temporary fix to get us flying. During the time he spent with us, we learned this was his last day as a self-employed mechanic. He had one last plane he was fixing today and he was closing his shop. We tried to give him money for the time he spent with us but he flatly refused. He was a great reminder that there are still a lot of good people in the world. His name is Mike Gall and below is his picture. Thank you Mike!
